Phenix City Council met for a regular Council Meeting at 9 a.m., EDT, on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 via the teleconference platform Zoom. The media and public were encouraged to watch online by visiting the website calendar, located at https://phenixcityal.us/events, and selecting the meeting date. After the event, the recording will be posted to the city’s  YouTube channel. Cable TV BEAM also broadcast the meeting live on Cable Channel 7.

Mayor/Council took the following action on agenda items:

December 14, 2020 Work Session Minutes were approved.

December 15, 2020 Council Meeting Minutes were approved.

Resolution No. 2020-312 in reference to authorizing the Mayor and City Manager to enter into a (5) five year contract with CityBase, Inc. for kiosk software and maintenance support, was ratified.

Resolution in reference to authorizing the Mayor and City Manager to enter into a contract agreement with Tyler Technology for software and maintenance support services in an amount not to exceed $7,862.00, was approved.

Resolution in reference to accepting a proposal from ADS Environmental Systems for flow monitors, rain gauges and technical assistance for a year in an amount not to exceed $3,925.00, was approved.

Resolution in reference to authorizing the Mayor and City Manager to enter into a contract agreement with Thayer-Bray Construction, LLC for services to remodel the Public Safety Building in an amount not to exceed $4,404,656.00, was approved.

Resolution in reference to accepting the Annual Transportation Report as submitted, was approved.

Resolution in reference to declaring various office items as surplus to be disposed of or destroyed at the landfill, was approved.

Resolution in reference to purchasing (2) two 2021 Ford Explorer CID Vehicles from Stivers Ford Lincoln in the total amount of $63,120.00, was approved.

Resolution in reference to purchasing (4) four 2021 Ford Explorer Patrol Vehicles from Stivers Ford Lincoln in the total amount of $126,240.00, was approved.
