Review the requirements and guidelines before submitting your Building Permit Application:
- General Contractor must have State of Alabama Home Builder License
- Must have City of Phenix City Business License: Finance Department – 334-448-2730
- Site plan stamped by Alabama architect or land surveyor

- Residential Driveway Permit Application, if within the city limits
If outside the city limits, but within the police jurisdiction, call the Russell County Engineering Department at 334-298-7484 - If building within the police jurisdiction, you must have septic tank approval from the Russell County Health Department: 334-297-0251
- If homeowner is acting as general contractor, he/she must sign a Sworn Statement in accordance with the Alabama Home Builders Licensure Law, Alabama Code §34-14A-1, et seq. (1975) (amended 2018)

- Need a site plan showing the size, location and setbacks.

- Please include the value amount of job on the application

- Business License Application is required
- Businesses located out of a home must show proof of ownership of the home, or attain a notarized statement from the landlord or property manager acknowledging the business is located on said property
- Business owner will need Home Occupation Statement
- Home Occupation businesses will need to sign a copy of the Zoning Ordinance pertaining to Home Occupation

- Must have State of Alabama License to install swimming pools
- Must have City of Phenix City Business License: Finance Department – 334-448-2730
- Need a site plan showing pool 10 feet from any structure
- Must have fence
