The License and Revenue clerks are responsible for collecting license fees and other revenue for the City of Phenix City, the issuance of business licenses, and ensuring compliance with all license and tax requirements pursuant to the City of Phenix City’s Tax Ordinances.

Business Licenses

If you are planning on opening a business located in the City of Phenix City, or doing business within the city limits, you must first obtain a business license by completing and submitting a Business License Application and paying the appropriate application fees. Residential Renters Quarterly Reporting

Owners of apartments or houses / duplexes that earn an income in the City of Phenix City must obtain a business license and submit a quarterly reporting form. An original copy of this form (choose below) and remittances must by submitted to the City of Phenix City Finance Department on or before the 15th day of the month following the end of each quarter (January, April, July, October). Failure to submit this form and remittance by the due date will result in a 15% penalty on the total amount due.
