Phenix City Council met for a regular Council Meeting at 9 a.m., EDT, on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 via the teleconference platform Zoom. Mayor/Council took the following action on agenda items:
January 19, 2021 Work Session Minutes were approved.
January 20, 2021 Council Meeting Minutes were approved.
Resolution in reference to Correcting and Amending Resolution No. 96-194, was approved.
Resolution in reference to accepting a proposal from Municipal Consultants, Inc. for minor modification of permit for C&D Landfill in an amount not to exceed $28,000.00, was approved.
Resolution in reference to accepting the dedication of an easement for Public Utilities on a “Plat of Property Division for Lots 14, 15, 17 & 18, Block 243, Totten’s Map of Phenix City, located in Section 14, Township 17 North, Range 30 East, Phenix City, Russell County, Alabama” Donald Hamrick & Patricia Hamrick, owners, was approved.
Resolution in reference to authorizing the Mayor and City Manager to sign a 3-year service contract with McCoy Fire and Safety, Inc. for monitoring services for the Library’s fire alarm system, was approved.
Resolution in reference to authorizing the Mayor and City Manager to sign an agreement with Jerry Pate Turf & Irrigation for the lease of Golf Course maintenance equipment for the Lakewood Golf Course in an amount not to exceed $366,853.80, was approved.
Resolution in reference to authorizing the Mayor and City Manager to sign an End of Term Purchase agreement with Jerry Pate Turf & Irrigation to purchase equipment for the Lakewood Golf Course in an amount not to exceed $29,195.00, was approved.
Resolution in reference to authorizing and directing the Mayor and City Manager to sign Change Order No. 1 with Deere and Company in the amount of $1,268.19 for an additional charge for the purchase of a John Deere 5100E Utility Tractor, was approved.
Amendment to Ordinance Authorizing the Issuance of General Obligation Warrants, “Series 2021A”, was approved.
Application for an Off Premise Beer License and Off Premise Wine License submitted by Rameshchandra Patel and Dashrathbhai Patel for Shree Kana, LLC dba Snack Attack located at 3764 Opelika Road, Phenix City, Alabama, was placed on First Reading.
Application for an Off Premise Beer License and Off Premise Whiskey/Wine License (Retail Package Store) submitted by Rameshchandra Patel and Dashrathbhai Patel for Sahjanand, LLC dba Alabama Spirits and Wine located at 3764 C Opelika Road, Phenix City, Alabama, was placed on First Reading.
Claimed filed by Tasheila Williams-Townsend was Denied.
Claimed filed by Tellas Weaver was Approved in the lowest estimate of $177.54.
Claimed filed by Curtis Cook was Approved for $200.00.
Resolution in reference to authorizing the Mayor and City Manager to sign a contract with Chattahoochee Timber Company to harvest timber on approximately 57 acres of land in the Industrial Park, was approved.
