Demolition of Structures 2020-1
The City of Phenix City, Alabama will accept individual bids (include dumping fees) by licensed Phenix City contractors to demolish the SEVEN (7) structures located as follows:
- 401 15th Avenue South, Phenix City, AL
- 2113 9th Avenue, Phenix City, AL
- 1305 7th Avenue, Phenix City, AL
- 308 16th Avenue South, Phenix City, AL
- 2407 16th Court, Phenix City, AL
- 2409 16th Court, Phenix City, AL
- 707 8th Street, Phenix City, AL
If your bid is greater than $10,000.00, a 5% bond or cashier’s check must accompany your bid. Any bid exceeding $10,000.00 which does not have either a cashier’s check or bond at bid opening shall not be considered. Each property shall be bid individually. If unsure about structure/lot location, contact the Phenix City Building Department for verification.
All sewer lines must be capped before being covered. All utility connections must be disconnected and secured. All debris and accumulation of materials resulting from demolition or any building shall be removed from the premises and disposed of properly. Grade lot to prevent standing of water.
Permanent Grassing Specifications:
- A Spreader is required to distribute seed/fertilizer.
- March 1 to August 31 – Common Bermuda grass (Hulled) 10 lbs/acre
- September 1 to March 1 – Common Bermuda grass (Unhulled) 10 lbs/acre and Annual Ryegrass 10 lbs/acre
Fertilizer Rate:
- Nitrogen: 5% – 10% | 60 – 90 lbs/acre
- Phosphorous: 10% – 15% | 120 – 180 lbs/acre
- Potassium: 10% – 15% | 120 – 180 lbs/acre
- Mulch: 1000 lbs/acre
- Lime: 500 lbs/acre
All work shall be completed within thirty (30) days of the bid being let.
Payment, in full, shall be awarded after the completion of a final inspection. There will be no partial payments. All work shall be performed in compliance with Federal, State, and the International Building Code, 2018 Edition, Section 3303.
The right is reserved to accept or reject all or any parts of your offer and to accept the offer the City Council considers the most advantageous to the City.
The City of Phenix City is exempt from all federal excise taxes. Do not include tax in your bid price.
Closed bids with cashier’s check or bid bond if bid exceeds $10,000.00 should be submitted to the Purchasing Agent in the Finance Department located at 601 12th Street, Phenix City, Alabama 36867. Bids will be accepted in the Finance Department until 9:30 A.M. EST on February 24, 2020. Please write on sealed envelope: Demolition of Structures 2020-1.
Bid Opening will be at 10 a.m. EST on February 24, 2020 in the Council Chambers located at 1111 Broad Street, Phenix City, Alabama.
