Review the following proposed plans, as reviewed by the City Council at the January 4, 2017, meeting.
Illicit Discharge Detection & Elimination Program (IDDE)
The proposed plan has been developed to ensure that pollutants originating from industrial, commercial, residential, or urban development do not enter into the City of Phenix City’s Storm Sewer System (MS4) or the Waters of the State.

Storm Water Management Program Plan (SWMPP)
The proposed plan has been updated to address public education, illicit discharges, pre/post-construction water runoff, pollution prevention, and good housekeeping for the city.

Proposed Stormwater Ordinance
The City Council of the City of Phenix City, Alabama, will meet to consider an ordinance to amend the Code of Ordinances of the City of Phenix City, Alabama, adding a chapter relating to Stormwater Management, to regulate discharges and connections to storm sewer systems within the corporate limits of the City of Phenix City.
Work Session
Notice is hereby given that the location for the regularly scheduled Phenix City Council Work Session set for 3 p.m., Eastern Time, Monday, February 6, 2017, has changed from the Third Floor Conference Room in the Municipal Building to the Auditorium at the Central Activity Center located at 1500 14th Street, Phenix City, Alabama.
Representatives from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) will be present at the Work Session to discuss with Council the following proposed plans and ordinance:
- Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination Program
- Updates to the Storm Water Management Program Plan
- Amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Phenix City, adding Chapter 10 1/2 – Stormwater Management
This meeting is open to the public and all persons interested are encouraged to attend.
Those wishing to address Council on the above issues may do so during the regularly scheduled Council meeting set for 9 a.m., Eastern Time, Tuesday, February 7, 2017, in the Council Chambers located in the Public Safety Building at 1111 Broad Street, Phenix City, Alabama.
