Notice is hereby given that the City of Phenix City wishes to implement an Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination Program (IDDE) as required by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) in order to maintain the City of Phenix City’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit.

The proposed plan has been developed to ensure that pollutants originating from industrial, commercial, residential, or urban developments do not enter into the City of Phenix City’s Storm Sewer System (MS4) or the Waters of the State.

A Public Hearing on the matter will be conducted during the regularly scheduled council meeting set for 9 a.m., Eastern Time, Tuesday, February 7, 2017, in the Council Chambers, located within the Public Safety Building, at 1111 Broad Street, Phenix City, Alabama 36867. Said hearing shall be open to the public. All interested parties are encouraged to attend.

A copy of the proposed Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination Program (IDDE) is available for public inspection in the Office of the City Clerk, located at 601 12th Street, Phenix City, Alabama 36867, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Eastern Time, Monday through Friday. Said proposed plan is also available for review on the City of Phenix City website’s Proposed Plans page.
