Fire Rescue Administration
The Fire Rescue Administration Division is housed at the city’s Public Safety Building, located at 1111 Broad Street. Personnel and subdivisions included are the Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, Office Manager, Fire Marshal / Fire Prevention, Inspections and Investigations, and Training Division.
Fire Chief

As Fire Chief, they are dedicated to protect the lives, safety, and property of the people of Phenix City. Priority is to assure delivery of the services and assistance that people need today. To improve the delivery of emergency medical services, all newly hired firefighters are being cross-trained as Emergency Medical Technicians.
The department will reach out to communities across the city to recruit and prepare the next wave of Phenix City Firefighters. Together we can make positive improvements for the betterment of the department and the people of Phenix City.
Assistant Fire Chief

The Assistant Fire Chief / Chief of Operations oversees all of the Fire Rescue divisions. They are in command of the department in the absence of the Fire Chief. They must assist the chief in making decisions regarding resource needs and allocation. As the second-ranking member of the department, they have the responsibility of reviewing department procedures, defining and implementing new goals, and serve as an intermediary between the department and the Fire Chief.
Office Manager

The office manager works under the direction of the Fire Chief and Assistant Fire Chief. He or she analyzes operating practices and revises as necessary, assists in preparing departmental budget and perform routine administrative task, calculates entries on salary worksheets, updates budget expenditures, and overall departmental budget. He or she serves as resource person to staff and suppression personnel, receives and directs calls or takes messages, greets visitors, and provides information. He or she also maintains files of leave records and verifies time documents.
