A five-member City Council, comprised of the mayor and four council members, governs the City of Phenix City and have each been elected to serve four-year terms. To contact the City Council, email the City Clerk’s Office or call 334-448-2701.
Duties & Responsibilities of the City Council
The City Council’s duties include establishing goals and policies, enacting legislation, adopting the city’s operating budget, and appropriating the funds necessary to provide service to the city’s residents, businesses, and visitors for the provision of effective and efficient municipal services.
District Meetings
Four times per year, City Council holds a meeting in each district. Please review the city calendar for notifications of district meetings.
Television Broadcasts
The City Council meetings are Live streamed via YouTube, and broadcast on CTV BEAM (cable channel 7), in the days following the meeting.
